Concept Statement: My goal was to celebrate Chicago’s vibrant community and culture through what I love most about the city—its abundance of street art and murals. Drawing from my background in graphic design and illustration, I embraced the bold stylization of graffiti to highlight aspects of Chicago’s history and culture that resonate with me. Each letter spelling out the city’s name features cultural icons and significant elements that proudly represent Chicago. For the floor design, I took inspiration from the city's iconic and colorful “L” rail system—the beating heart of Chicago. It connects people to their livelihoods, and I sought to capture its dynamic energy through a dramatic and stylized interpretation.
